I've been leaving the dock an hour early lately to beat the afternoon thunderstorms. It's been working. The last 2 days I've gotten caught by pretty bad storms at the ramp just as I'm loading my boat to go home. We had a decent bite today. We had 4 nice kings and a pretty big spanish mackerel. When the troll slowed down we bottom fished and stroked the red snapper. I lost count on the 3-6lb fish we caught. We caught a couple of mules (large red snapper) up to 20lbs; unfortunately the tax man (150lb bull shark) took a 50% cut of one of them. After that we had a 10ft tiger shark swimming around the boat for about 20mins. You just never know what you're gonna see out there. It's why I get excited each time I breach the jetties! I had a great group of guys today. Great day on the big pond!
