We started out this morning with an unfavorable forecast (east 10-15 seas 3-5 feet). We loaded up on bait quickly and headed offshore about 45 miles. The ocean was fairly nice going out, with a couple of thunderstorms we had to split (thank you satellite weather). We started trolling and got a nice amberjack, a barracuda, and lost what I think was a wahoo. We started bottom fishing with live baits and got into an amberjack bonanza. We caught and released about 30 amberjack up to 40lbs. We caught them on live bait and the butterfly jigs. It was one of the most insane amberjack experiences I've ever had. They would not stop and all of them were huge. We finally had enough, left that spot and started catching some of the biggest sea bass I've ever caught, several up to 17-18 inches. Steve gets the golden token for the trip with 2 grouper (18lb and 13lb) and a 15lb red snapper. The fish box was full, the ocean started to pick up so we headed in loaded. We had a great time catching fish and talking trash, just like we like it. Great trip guys and thanks a lot for the great tip!!!
