Man it took me forever to catch pogies this morning. They were plentiful but I could not get the net on them. I guess they were faster than me. Finally with the help of Capt. Kirk, we loaded up on bait and headed offshore. I ran accross a nice piece of bottom on the way out, circled around and anchored. I put a live pogie off the back of the boat and literally in 15 seconds, we had our first kingfish on. We lost that fish, started bottom fishing, and began catching some nice sea bass and more kings. We had a nice bag of sea bass, 5 kings, and a couple bonita, and the bite completely shutdown. We struggled the rest of the day but still ended with a nice cooler full of fish from the first couple hour flurry. I had a good time with the crew and look forward to the next trip. Thanks!!
