Today was SUPPOSED to be pretty nice offshore, supported by a south breeze of about 10kts. Well it wasn't and that's all I'm saying about that. We caught pogies fairly quickly this morning and headed offshore to MG. The ocean was pretty nasty. We had a SSW wind of 15-18kts which kicked the ocean up pretty bad. We made our way offshore, anchored down and went to fishing. The bite was not wide open to say the least, but we were getting a few bites. Today was one of those "move til you find fish" days that turned into one of those "move and catch a fish - move and catch a fish" days. We fished several locations, caught some nice fish, lost some even nicer fish and made the best of a questionable forecast. We had some nice grouper up to about 10lbs, some big red snapper up to about 12lbs, a flounder, and a cobia. Even though it was pretty choppy, the crew made the best of it and took home some nice fish.
